How Jordan Mara, of Mind & Soil, turned a childhood memory into a season of giving, and a greenhouse of his own
Jordan Mara’s greenhouse journey started long before he had a following. His family got their first BC Greenhouse over a decade ago, and in 2026 he brought that relationship full circle with an 8×12 Traditional Series of his own. Designed to help him manage sunlight and extend the growing season, the greenhouse has exceeded even his highest expectations.
“It’s really always been like ‘I want to get a BC Greenhouse at my place.’ My parents got one about 11 or 12 years ago. The number of fond memories I have of harvesting tomatoes, basil, and cucumbers with my parents and nieces has just been such an amazing memory.”
The greenhouse arrived just in time for spring planting, anchoring his 2026 “1,000 Pound Challenge,” a season-long mission to grow and give away 1,000 pounds of food to his community. Within six weeks, he’d already pulled over 10 pounds of leafy greens in a single harvest. And by week twenty, over 250 pounds of fresh produce was handed out to his neighbors.
