Planning a Greenhouse This Year? Current Pricing Is Available only until March 1st.
When you invest in a quality made-to-order greenhouse, you are investing in long-term performance. The strength of your greenhouse determines how it handles wind, snow, temperature swings, and decades of use.
At BC Greenhouse Builders, our standard greenhouses are engineered for 85 mph winds and 32 pounds per square foot of snow. We can upgrade our structures to withstand 140 mph winds, equivalent to Hurricane Force Level 1, and over 100 pounds per square foot of snow load to meet local building codes and weather conditions
Every greenhouse is engineered to meet the structural design loads specified for your municipality. We regularly engineer upgrades for:
Stamped engineering drawings are available throughout North America. Your greenhouse is not built to a generic national average. It is engineered for the specific weather conditions in your neighborhood.
We build strength into both the frame and how it interacts with glazing and site conditions.
Our frames are made from high-grade aluminum (6063 T5/T6), chosen for long-term stability in outdoor conditions. Proprietary extrusion (framing) profiles, developed through decades of design improvements since the 1950s, provide the backbone of the greenhouse and distribute loads throughout the frame rather than concentrating stress at isolated points.
Our glazing bars and structural load-bearing components, including trusses and purlins, are engineered for load-bearing performance, weather and water tightness, seasonal expansion and contraction, and long-term durability. Each aluminum profile incorporates internal and external weep systems that channel moisture to the exterior of the greenhouse, protecting both the structure and glazing.
Although more costly upfront, heavy duty aluminum greenhouses offer important advantages in extreme climates:
Unlike wood or light-duty kit frames you would find at big box stores, our aluminum structures are engineered to carry wind uplift and snow compression loads safely.
When a project requires formal engineering, we design the greenhouse specifically for the conditions where it will be installed. Your final work order specifies the design loads we will build to. When required, we provide stamped engineering drawings to support permitting and inspections across North America. You may also request our standard shop drawings to determine if they will satisfy your local planning department.
For projects requiring enhanced load capacity, we offer upgraded frame systems that include:
These structural enhancements are commonly used in high-wind coastal regions, rooftop conservatories, and heavy snow climates.

Our lifetime warranty framework reflects our confidence in this engineering but even more, our commitment to our customers. The Lifetime Limited Warranty on frames and structural components, along with warranties on glazing seals and hail resistance, provides assurance that the greenhouse will perform successfully for a lifetime.
