St. John’s, Newfoundland
Project Overview:
The Newfoundland Government House Greenhouse was developed as a community-focused conservatory and gathering space on the grounds of the historic Lieutenant Governor’s residence. Designed to support local food initiatives, wellness programming, and educational outreach, the greenhouse functions alongside an attached 56-square-metre Community Room equipped with accessible washrooms, Wi-Fi, and a kitchenette for non-profit community use. Rather than serving commercial production, the project emphasizes therapeutic gardening, arts programming, youth and senior engagement, and community connection while continuing Government House’s long-standing tradition of public gardens and horticulture.
